Michael Adams (born November 17, 1971 in Truro, Cornwall, England) is an English top grandmaster. His highest rating was 2755 and he has been  the world's number 4 several times.

On the April 2008 FIDE rating list, Michael is the number 14 in the world and the number one British chess player with an ELO rating of 2729.
