Friday, 02 May 2008 |
Gata Kamsky (Tatar: Ğataulla Kamski) is a Soviet-born (June 2, 1974) American super grandmaster. At one point he was the third highest-rated player in the world, but he played almost no FIDE-rated
games between 1997 and late 2004.
He is rated 2726 in the April 2008
FIDE list, ranking him fifteenth in the world and first among American
players. In December 2007 he won the FIDE World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk, earning the right to challenge Veselin Topalov in a match. This match is scheduled for the end of 2008.
We made an interview with Mr. Kamsky in which he tells about his background and career and gives advice to young chess talents on how to become super GM.
Enjoy it...
