Magnus Øen Carlsen (born November 30, 1990) is a Norwegian Grandmaster and chess super star.  

On April 26, 2004 Carlsen became Grandmaster at the age of 13 years, 4 months, and 27 days, the third youngest grandmaster in history.

Since then, he has established himself as an elite Grandmaster. Currently he's the number 5 in the world - and first seeded in this Grand Prix Series!
